Unforgettable day on the Fraser River. Ives was already waiting for us when we arrived on time at the pick up sight. After boarding his comfortable boat, Ives introduced himself gave us a run down of the safety aspects of the trip, showed us where the snacks and drinks were and we set out to our first fishing spot. The complimentary coffee was hot and much appreciated to sip on while you watch nature go by and listen to the boat purr away. At our first fishing spot Ives educates us on the ins and outs of catching sturgeon, baited the lines and out they went. Conversation was great while we waited for the bite. Ives is very knowledgable, easy going and passionate about his job! After not so long a time with no strikes we moved to the second spot. That’s when the fun really began! We first caught two small ones which are great practice for what is to come. You also get to see the microchipping process (if they don’t have one already) and learn about how they are measured, logged and tracked. Very interesting! The 3rd bite was the big one! The 7.5ft (2.25m) sturgeon fought hard and was quite a match! The jumps were amazing! After a 15 min matchup the fish was by the boat and Ives pulled to shore to be in shallow and calm waters for pictures. Through out the hole process Ives demonstrated a great respect for the sturgeon making sure it was the least stressed it could be while allowing you to enjoy the moment! Long story short (because google character limit, but i could go on and on) we caught 2 more bigs ones and missed two more! Ives is a professional in every sense! Make sure you spring for the included lunch! We had yummy sandwiches, pasta side, fruit, fresh cherries and dessert! Well worth it! When my son said he wanted to catch a sturgeon for his graduation gift I began researching. I was recommended to Yves by another Canadian fisherman. Boy am I thankful! Yves was a professional from the moment we arrived. His boat was immaculate and organized. We just showed up and caught fish. It was an incredible day! Hands down one of the best experiences of our lives. He came prepared with coffee, snacks and we were off. Within the first hour, my son had caught his dream fish! Such an emotional day. We had the best time! The scenery was beautiful. Yves taught us about Canadian wildlife, the sturgeons. He is very respectful of the beautiful creatures you are catching. He takes the pictures and videos for you. He is a professional all around and a nice guy! He is worth every penny. Just do it! We plan to go back again. We only did a one-day trip, but we all had such a fantastic time we plan to go back for a two day fishing trip.

I went on a 2 day fishing trip with 4 other guys with yves and, I can confidently say, this is the best fishing trip to go on. Firstly, yves is a great guy and an extremely professional guide. In 2 days, we caught 15 fish and each person got a fish over 7ft. The thing about fishing with yves is that people with all kinds of fishing experience can go and enjoy this trip. Yves will explain how to set the hook, fight/reel in the fish and then take the perfect picture. Another reason to go on this trip is that yves can get you big fish consistently even in bad weather conditions making this a trip to go on year round. I just want to thank Yves for such a great day fishing with my boy and some of his best lacrosse brothers. We took a chance fishing in the winter. With that said Yves has got it wired. I grew up in the Florida Keys and several of my childhood friends guide and so having a little insight I was very impressed with Yves whole approach with technique and educating his charter while, having a awesome day at fishing. We hooked 8 fish and landed and released 6 which added up to a bucket list day with my boys.

Spent the afternoon with Yves and I can genuinely say this was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Yves was so knowledgable of the region, professional and an amazing guide. he taught us technique, conservation and the ins and outs of the river. No ego. This made my first time fishing sturgeon so fun and set us up perfectly for a successful afternoon.

We ended up catching 2x 250lb and 1x 300lb+ and a double header!!

Yves boat and equipment was top notch, he was ready for us with coffee and everything we needed. We stepped on the boat and got right into it.

Fishing the frozen Fraser!

No amount of words can ever describe the experience Yves provided for us. Having booked our trip in the winter we were met with snow storms and almost impassible weather our entire drive. Once we arrived we were greeted with frozen rivers and extreme ice build up.. let’s just say we were a bit doubtful that we would be able to put a boat in the water let alone go fishing. Worried we would have to rebook we called Yves in advance and he said if we wanted to go he would make it happen! Standing at the boat launch bundled up and spirits raised we hopped aboard the boat and off we went! With the freezing temperatures creating its own unique set of challenges Yves seemed to have a solution for everything making sure we were safe and well informed at all times. After a scenic ride filled with eagles, seals and every migratory bird imaginable we arrived at the honey hole and proceeded to catch giant after giant! We landed multiple fish over 7ft. Between the three of us we got 10 fish and only one of them was under 6ft! Not only that we had two double headers multiple bites and a few lost fish! Absolutely unbelievable day of fishing! I couldn’t have asked for a more memorable experience!

Wow! What an absolute blast it was to hangout with yves! I would like to say first and foremost what an absolute professional, you can tell this is what he lives for! I feel like I actually walked away with alot of information and wasn't shy to ask any sort of questions. We had a group of 5 people fishing and we all managed to get one to the boat! He treated us well and was very friendly. Also his cooking is absolutely amazing!

We are have currently finished our second of 3 days on the water with Yves. I have fished in many places, with many guides—many of them top notch—but this has been our best trip ever. Everything about the trip has been phenomenal, and the rating should be much higher then 5 stars, but I can’t give him 6,7 or 8 stars—I would if I could. If you are a serious fisherman, this is a must do. Until today, I’ve never have a guide apologize to me for putting me on too many big fish. Yves actually said “I’m sorry” as we were struggling epically to bring in our 8th monster sturgeon of the day, after 8 the day before. Nuff said. Yves is The Man!

What an incredible day!! It rained most of the day and it didn't even matter. Yves has a covered area of the boat that keeps you warm and dry while you're waiting for those sturgeon to hook. We caught a few big ones and he makes sure to take some amazing photos of you and your catch,. He also puts on a quite the delicious spread of food. The day did not disappoint!

While on my own in BC on my first travel nursing assignment I made a last minute decision to book a trip of a lifetime. While on my lunch break at work I was day dreaming of catching big sturgeon. I regularly seen Yves amazing photos and videos on social media and knew he guided out of the Fraser river. I thought “maybe he’s close to where I am?” I did a quick search and I was literally a 5 minute drive away ! I sent an email and it was all planned and booked by the next day, I was so excited! The day couldn’t have been any better, after a beautiful boat ride out Yves gave me a run down on how to use the gear correctly. He baited the hooks and cast them out; within the first 10 minutes it was game on! I couldn’t believe what I reeled in after a tough fight. Yves quickly assured me that I would catch a bigger fish than that, and he was right! Each time we set new bait I hardly had time to catch my breath before another fish was on the line. It’s no easy thing to reel in these monsters and Yves helped me along the way with tips on how to improve my technique to ensure I could conserve my energy and win each battle. With each fish he took a surplus of amazing photos and videos for me. While riding to the next hot spot he answered my many questions about these creatures and his major contribution to the conservation of the species. The afternoon flew by after landing 7 sturgeon and I was over the moon! I hope to come back and enjoy this experience again some day soon! With Yves’s guidance anyone is sure to land an amazing fish no matter if you’ve been fishing all your life or if it is your first time on the river!

For the third time, I took this wonderful sturgeon fishing trip with Yves Bisson on the Fraser River. Yves is indeed the Sturgeon Whisperer. He knows his river and he knows his fish. He exudes confidence from the moment you step into his cozy boat. I say cozy but you hardly need to be inside the warm cabin when there is so much action outside. Yves provides everything you need; his tackle is of the finest quality. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Just go and do it. It has to be one of the finest outdoor experiences in British Columbia, and that is saying a lot.

Our work hired Yves to take us out on his guided tours of the Fraser River to Fish Sturgeon. He was on time and right away we all felt comfortable in his boat. Lots of space and very nice boat.

We travelled up river and anchored quick. On our second anchor we had hooked a monster fish and it was the fight of my life. After that everyone got a turn on the rod and all 5 of us were bringing fish in. It was an unbelievable experience.

Excellent guide , very knowledgeable and friendly. Educated us in the history and conservation of this fishery and truly puts the fish and its survival first.

We had two double headers and landed three out of 6 fish. Largest was a 350 lb 8’4” sturgeon that had never been tagged. We were hooked. Other two landed fish were 5 and 6 feet and around 140 lbs. lost a small and one that would have competed for the top weight along with one around two hundred pounds.

Aside from sore arms it was a very enjoyable 4 hour charter. We realize that the result we got is not always going to happen but Yves knows what he is doing and the results speak for themselves. We all recommend him highly. Before you book anywhere else you owe it to yourself to give him a call. All equipment and boat was as he said - comfortable and in great order.

We just came back from vacation in Vancouver/Whistler and our trip started with the most unique and sureal fishing day. After some research done by my son, we decided to go fishing for the white sturgeon in the Fraser River area with Yves Bisson. I have to say that the experience was the highlight of our trip. Snow and freezing rain was on the menu but it didn’t stop Yves from showing us how to catch this beauty. I have to say that most importantly, we have met a very passionate man that is implicated in the conservation of this monster fish. We have learned so much and we will be back for sure! Thanks again!

Unbelieveable experience. I've been lucky enough to spend a lot of time fishing, guiding fishermen and a part of the hospitality business. We came out for a father son sturgeon trip with Yves Bisson. What a trip it was!! In 2 days we were kept hopping bringing in some of the biggest fish we had ever caught. Nothing under 5 ‘7” and many many over 7’. It was very nice to be part of the conservation with checking for tags and even tagging one of our own. Super knowledgeable and easy going. My Friend and I was looking for adrenaline. So we tried differents activities during our trip in British Columbia. But the best part of the week was the fishing trip. We go out of our confort zone. We only book 4 hours, but Yves found the best fishing spots. We caught 3 Giant sturgeons ! I highly recommend this fishing trip for everybody .

Having never been fishing before, I did not know what to expect. Hands down one of the best experiences I've had. You get to see BC's backyard in a totally different and amazing way. Super fun and enjoyable day.

Alright so ladies and gentlemen, this guy is the real deal. I went out on July 15th with my dad that I hadn't seen in years. Yves knew what he was doing, a second nature kind of thing. He brought us on to some big fish, explained how this whole thing worked precisely and efficiently. We caught 4 fish, missed maybe 4 and had nibbles over 20 times during the day. 91", 90", 85" and 50". It was the experience of a life time and I'll be grateful to Yves forever. Hopefully I will get to go back out with him again. Book your trip, you won't regret it.

My two sons and 9 year old grandson had a fantastic day sturgeon fishing with Yves.

My grandson caught 3 smaller ones by himself and we topped that off with a 5.5 footer and an 8 footer. That was enhanced by a delicious lunch on the shore.

My first experiance with Yves on the mighty Fraser River was a 10/10 experiance. Out of the dozen or so times i've been with different guides over the years this experiance tops them all. The coolest highlight besides the giants we caught and the spectacular BBQ lunch was catching a fish tagged 20+ years ago and its still healthy and well! finished the day with back to back 8'1" & 8'2" 9 total caught. Yves is a pro. Not only at fishing but at hosting the whole experience. We had a great day out on the river. Caught 9 sturgeon in total and 2 of them were over 8' long. Yves is the sturgeon whisperer and seems to know exactly where they will be and what the best conditions are to catch a monster. Lunch was a feast and I'm wishing for seconds today.

Yves is a true professional, both at the guiding and fishing aspect of your adventure as well as hospitality side. Pre trip arrangements, a plan for the days fishing, it is all thought out and executed surgically. The gear is top notch, the lunch spread was actually 6 stars and he's just a fun guy to share the boat with. We also caught many great fish...but the trip was already made.

Our company had four different fishing excursions booked with Yves Bisson and each and every one of the groups had the same reaction - this guy is the best! He's so knowledgeable about the sturgeon and their habitat and is sensitive to their well being. Yves is an awesome guide. He is passionate and super knowledgeable about sturgeons. I was lucky to have Yves as a guide during my volunteering day to tag, catch, and release juvenile white sturgeons. Out of all the boats that were out that day, our boat caught the most fish!

With a few game fishing trips under our belts, my husband and I conquer that the guide makes the trip. We were in such good hands with Yves Bisson who offered us the fishing adventure of a lifetime. As a guide for 20+ years, Yves is a professional with a wealth of knowledge about the Fraser River and white sturgeon. His top notch gear, story telling of the area and conservation efforts are second to none.
We were there for big game sports fishing, and we did just that and more! Yves knew exactly where to drop the anchor for monster sturgeon. Not only did we catch a 5 footer and 7 footer, but he allowed us to set the hook while guiding us through the technical skill to fight the monster sturgeon for minutes on end. All day we saw even larger sturgeon catching air in the distance. After an action packed morning, we docked on a beautiful and secluded sandbank for a delicious 4-course BBQ lunch.
His passion for conservation was evident in how he respected the water and the life within it. In fact, he is one of 20 people who are responsible for tagging and documenting the sturgeon in the river. It was an honour to be included in the documentation as he invited us to scan the sturgeon’s tags and record their numbers.

It’s also to catch 2 Sturgeon on just a 4 hour journey, but 100% this was a team effort!

Booked a trip with yves and were currently on the fraser and all 3 of us have had our fair share of fish and the overall experiance right down to the complimentary coffee was the best day we've spent together in a very long time.

Yves came highly recommended from a friend, so when I decided to book a sturgeon trip for my dads 60th birthday I knew who to use. We were not disappointed we had an excellent day on a well run boat with 8 fish over 5 feet and a couple of hogs at 7 feet. We took the bbq option and it was excellent.
